Marriage, Sex, Singleness and Divorce...
wow! its been a long time since ive updated this thing... Sorry to the readers out there! Life has just been a little hectic, and still is but hey I got a few minutes to spare tonite so why not write a little update.
So I went to Austin TX about a month ago to see my two besties- Jen and LP! It was by far the best weekend Ive had in a LONG time. I mean any minute spent with those two is =). Well on Sunday we attended Jen's church (Austin Stone) and they began a new series. This series was perfect for the newly engaged Jen... but also amazingly perfect for me too. "Marriage, Sex, Singleness and Divorce" was the title of this new series of sermons. Matt Carter the lead pastor talked on Marriage that Sunday, and as always I loved hearing what he had to say. I knew that coming back to NE and not being able to participate in his weekly sermons would make me sad, since I was so excited to hear the series... Well lucky me found it on iTUNES and have been able to listen to them that past few weeks. This last week was the one that I so badly needed to hear. What was it on you may ask... SINGLENESS! Now why would I want to hear this when we all know a girls wish is to get married and be a mommy... Ladies and Gentlemen, this sermon was by far the best sermon Ive heard in a long time. I have heard these verses and this type of talk a million and one times, but I guess it takes just that one time you hear it again to actually take it to heart... 1 Corinthians 7:7-9
A few of the points that Matt made were...
1Corinthians 7:7-8
"to the widows/unmarried, it is a good thing to be single..."
-desiring a husband is NOT an unGodly thing...
-What God joins together, you should never break apart. If you think it will eventually break that is it better not to marry.
Singleness=Blessed institution... We may not think or feel like this, but it is.
-If singleness is such a bad thing for us humans to endure, Why did Jesus choose singleness?
Being single is a gift from God, it is an opportunity to spread the word.. Not a failure!
1 Corinthians 7:32
Singleness: secures undistracted, undivided devoted time to the Lord.
Singleness: offers us a blessing eternally better than earthly children
The challenge given by Matt Carter to WOMEN-->
If you allow your wants of being married and wanting kids be taken over by devotion to the Lord, you will be honored in heaven. Can you say Jesus Christ is all you need? Can you say that he is enough for you? Can you let your wants of being having a bf, being engaged and getting married be taken over by your devotion to the Lord? If you choose to give your undivided and undistracted time, God will give you great things in heaven.
Stop worrying about being in a relationship, getting married and having a family! Start running harder after Jesus because he is the reason we live. Use your time and energy studying the word, and spending time with Jesus instead of thinking/worrying about your future with someone! If one day you are running hard after Christ and a guy is running next to you as hard as you are... GET MARRIED! (haha i laughed at this part cuz they mentioned this at kamp so many times! but its true!)
Listen to it on Itunes Podcast.. Sermon 2/8/2009- Marriage, Sex, Singleness and Divorce. Actually just download the whole series..!
Just a little nugget that ive learned and really taken to heart... can i say it is easy.. HECK NO! its harder than you'd think, but God is the one who created whom I may someday marry and he knows when and if it will happen. Why worry about when hes got it all taken care of. Worry about your relationship with Christ before someone else!
Thats all for now...

Healing Hand of God
This new song by Jeremy Camp has just really touched me... It is a song that I can really relate to lately. God can heal anything! Miracles can happen with God's hand in the situation. I dont want to go into the situation really, but lets just say my family has been praying for a VERY long time for something in our life to change and a miracle has happened! Thanks to the healing hand of God! I am so thankful for this miraculous change in my families lives! =) THANK YOU JESUS!
Healing Hand of God
Jeremy Camp
I have seen the many faces of fear and of pain
I have watched the tears fall plenty from heartache and strain
So if life’s journey has you weary and afraid
There’s rest in the shadow of his wing
I have walked through the valleys the mountains and plains
I have held the hand of freedom that washes all my stains
If you feel weight of many trials ad burdens of this world
There’s freedom in the shelter of the Lord
I have seen the healing hand of God
Reaching out and mending broken hearts
So taste and see the fullness of his peace
And hold on to what’s being held out
The healing hand of God
I have touched the scars upon his hands to see if they were real
He has walked the road before me he knows just how I feel
When you feel that there’s not anyone who understands your pain
Just remember all of Jesus’ suffering
Cast all your cares on Him for he cares for you
He’s near to the broken and confused
By his stripes our spirit is renewed
So enter in the joy prepared for you

Trials and Torture
Just something to read...
2 Corinthians : Trials and Torture
1-2Since God has so generously let us in on what he is doing, we're not about to throw up our hands and walk off the job just because we run into occasional hard times. We refuse to wear masks and play games. We don't maneuver and manipulate behind the scenes. And we don't twist God's Word to suit ourselves. Rather, we keep everything we do and say out in the open, the whole truth on display, so that those who want to can see and judge for themselves in the presence of God.
3-4If our Message is obscure to anyone, it's not because we're holding back in any way. No, it's because these other people are looking or going the wrong way and refuse to give it serious attention. All they have eyes for is the fashionable god of darkness. They think he can give them what they want, and that they won't have to bother believing a Truth they can't see. They're stone-blind to the dayspring brightness of the Message that shines with Christ, who gives us the best picture of God we'll ever get.
5-6Remember, our Message is not about ourselves; we're proclaiming Jesus Christ, the Master. All we are is messengers, errand runners from Jesus for you. It started when God said, "Light up the darkness!" and our lives filled up with light as we saw and understood God in the face of Christ, all bright and beautiful.
7-12If you only look at us, you might well miss the brightness. We carry this precious Message around in the unadorned clay pots of our ordinary lives. That's to prevent anyone from confusing God's incomparable power with us. As it is, there's not much chance of that. You know for yourselves that we're not much to look at. We've been surrounded and battered by troubles, but we're not demoralized; we're not sure what to do, but we know that God knows what to do; we've been spiritually terrorized, but God hasn't left our side; we've been thrown down, but we haven't broken. What they did to Jesus, they do to us—trial and torture, mockery and murder; what Jesus did among them, he does in us—he lives! Our lives are at constant risk for Jesus' sake, which makes Jesus' life all the more evident in us. While we're going through the worst, you're getting in on the best!
13-15We're not keeping this quiet, not on your life. Just like the psalmist who wrote, "I believed it, so I said it," we say what we believe. And what we believe is that the One who raised up the Master Jesus will just as certainly raise us up with you, alive. Every detail works to your advantage and to God's glory: more and more grace, more and more people, more and more praise!
16-18 So we're not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There's far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can't see now will last forever.

there will be a day...
Like Jeremy Camp says, there will be a day...
Revelations 21:4- He will wipe away every tear from their eyes and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.
We have all be through things in our life that have caused us pain and have been difficult. We've all wanted to give up... had the feeling of no hope. God gives us that promise there will be no more suffering and or pain.
Romans 8:18, 19, 25
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. 19: For the creation waits with eager longing for the reveling of the sons of God. 25:But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience/perservance
We can eagerly wait, God has prepared life for us. This is not our home- its only temp. God has something far greater than this, that we can not even imagine.
While we are on this earth, let us share this hope with others.
There will be a Day By Jeremy Camp...
I try to hold on to this world with everything I have
But I feel the weight of what it brings, and the hurt that tries to grab
The many trials that seem to never end,
His word declares this truth, that we will enter in this rest with wonders anew
But I hold on to this hope and the promise that He brings
That there will be a place with no more suffering
There will be a day with no more tears,
no more pain, and no more fears
There will be a day when the burdens of this place, will be no more, we'll see Jesus face to face
But until that day, we'll hold on to you always
I know the journey seems so long
You feel youre walking on your own
But there has never been a step
Where youve walked out all alone

whos approval are you seeking?
For am I now seeking the approval of man or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. -Galatians 1:10
Just something that my fun little bible studying talked about last Tuesday.
Are we wanting/worried about being accepted by others?
Do we care what others think of what we live our lives for?
Do we care what others think of us?
Do we seek for man's approval or acceptance?
Let us not be worried about any of the above... We should not be seeking to please, get acceptance or approval of our peers. Instead we need to be seeking for Gods approval. I know this is cheesy, but we need to remember/think before taking an action "What Would Jesus Do?" Would Jesus approve of what I am wearing, saying, or doing? If the answer comes to an easy yes or no, great! ... if it comes to a confusion or something you have to stop and think about for a while, then its most likely a NO- Jesus doesnt approve!
Remember this verse next time your making a decision- whether its as easy as should I go out to a life long decision for a job ect.
"My grace is sufficent for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
-2 Corinthians 12:9
